Welcome to the forums Lindsay. You need to get the codes read, almost any auto parts store can do that. Then, you will probably get better response if you post on the s forum. When you do get the codes, write them down and bring them to the forum. Sometimes the codes mean something different with a generic reader.

Welcome to the forum Lindsay,

From the information in your Visitor Message to me I've found your post in an old thread titled 'Restricted Performance' on the X308 forum.

I've moved it to S-Type forum. You will get help here from members with the same model.

If you haven't done so already, you should have the codes read. This is the first step in troubleshooting an engine management issue.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Graham

Welcome to the Forum!

You car must have been near my STR. I believe that "Restricted Performance"
has become a communicable Jaguar disease. (There seems to be a lot of this message going around.)

In my case, I believe that one of my Catalytic converters is going bad.
In your case, as everyone has already stated, you should read your codes and post them. I am sure someone will be able to help you find a cure.

If he's in Wales then he'll have to buy an OBD tool or pay to have them read. Cheapest tool is about a tenner - such as elm327.

Flashing sounds like cat-damaging misfires so probably a bad coil but find out FAST. Cats are costly.

Guessing car is 2.5...
