Your cap might not be holding sufficient pressure allowing the coolant to evaporate to atsmosphere as pressure builds. That would be a cheap fix. They do wear out after time.

^^ Agreed - replace the cap. My experience has been that when they get excessively tight, they have failed....

Thanks, what I did was take the cap off seemed loose. Then clean the cap wiping off the threads and the opening in the radiator. Screwed on tight and so far no "low coolant warning".
