S Type 2.7D auto transmission

I have a 2005 S Type 2.7D auto with 67,000 miles. A recent problem has developed in that, when I slow up to a halt at a junction or whatever, just as the car is about to stop you feel a kick from the back end. Maybe it feels more like a little shunt forward. The Jag main dealer said it is a common problem and only needed the software re-loaded. They did this and 24 hours later the car was as bad as previously, maybe slightly worse. Otherwise, the gearbox is very smooth and no warning lights come on. Any ideas as to the problem or has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.
Also, the dealer may not have done the reflash correctly. Search the Lurch here as well. Many have listed the proper learn procedure that the dealer should have done. Another thing, after a reflash, DO NOT use sport mode (the button marked S) for the first 150 miles. It will instantly revert back to mis-behaving (I speak on that one from experience). Now for the bad news... The most recent reflash of mine was done properly, and I was warned not to use Sport Mode for the first 150 miles, and it did drive much better for a couple of months, but now it is back to doing the same thing again. I don't mind the downshift lurch (what you talk about) as much as the hesitation from a rolling stop. That drives me batty..

If you use Sport most of the time switch it off and vice versa. I find that helps to reduce the effect of the Lurch. I havd had my car 6 months now and I think the auto has finally learned my driving style. My wife has her own car now, so I do 99% of the driving now.
Your lurch could be out of date software. I THINK there's been three updates on this problem. Best solution is to find a Jag. gearshift software expert in your area; or mail direct to Jag. in UK to get the latest version number. Jag. are not sniffy about this, they've always told me straight what's what, at least Minster Jaguar in Leeds have. I just go round the back and ask a mechanic. They've even printed stuff out F.O.C. for me. Oh, and their workshop looks like it's just been swept and tidied all the time! Kinda breeds respect...
Leedsman.
Leedsman.
Funnily enough I was in Leeds for the first time in about 25 years a few months ago. The Glasgow Jag dealer claimed to know nothing of The Lurch. In any case, it does appear to have gone by itself.
