Hi everyone,

I have an S-Type year 2000 and I've got the following issue with my electric windows: I can control all 4 windows from the driver door's window switches, so the windows are surely working, however none of the other doors' window switches are operating. I thought that the switches are wrong and I ordered a new passenger side window switch but it didn't help. The guy who did the replacement said that most likely the Comfort Module is wrong.

However I cannot find any reference to it that which module does he exactly mean? Is it the "Driver's Door Module" or the "Front Electronics Module" (which is sometimes referred to as a Comfort & Convenience module)?

Does anyone have info about it? And if yes then can you tell if year 2000 cars may have different modules than newer cars or I can just get any used module and let it be installed & programmed at some specialist?

I have the same issue, same car. Mine worked, then sputtered and I am stumped on this one. There was a thread a few years back that had the problem but solved it because the wire had a chafe in the harness going through the driver door but I didn't have that.

 

I found an old thread where someone has another solution, it sounds pretty good to me but I had no time to try it.
