S-type 2000 V8
hi folks !
i bought an 2000 S-type V8 two weeks back.I am a first time jaguar user and i am learning a lot from this site.
Since yesterday had engine light, gearbox fault message with engine restriction performance. so i took it to the dealer and found these codes first.
P0713
P0731
P0732
P0735
P0743
P0750
P0755
P0760
P0779
P0796
P0797
P0799
P1000
P1577
P1577
P1714
P1746
P1747
P1760
P1788
P1789
then after reseting the codes these codes appeared again
P1000
P0796
P1746
P1788
According to the dealers advice i need to 'replace' urgently
-transmission
-timing chain tensioners
the drive is horrible so i have managed to crawl the cat back in the garage safely.
my question is about the transmission and should i..
get it rebuild ? or just get it replaced from the dealer ?
or is there anyother way to deal with this issue perhaps other jag specialist in Toronto area who can do the job ?
please advice.
thank you,
troubled s-type user

RE: S-type 2000 V8
and sorry forgot to mention, the traction control light keeps flashing after the dealer resetted the codes, so i took it back to the dealer and was told by the tech that it was there from before along with other bunch of lights (which is not true). so after complaining, the service manager wants me to bring it in again to check and fix it.
has anyone experienced this problem ?

Wiring harness bud. Drove car home tonight. Seems to be ok. No op code for the harness on s/c 4.2, what a lot of work. I have done the n/a harness in vehicle, but no way I was gonna do the s/c one like that.
Coffee table.....I like it. Put two face to face a couple feet apart with a nice piece of glass on it.

P0333 code. Bad splice. THL could only tell me it was 700mm from ECM. I told them I am replacing harness as there is a dozen different harness things go in there 700mm from ECM.
Hooked up meter to monitor voltage drop on ground side of knock sensor. Left it recording min/max and when restricted perf. light came on, ground side spiked to 2.16Volts.
