I am zero help with anything audio, but check the jagrepair.com website for electrical diagrams and fuse box schematics that could be of help to you...i am guessing you will be installing in the trunk area....the big fuse box there should be a power source or even the battery with proper wire size and circuit protection

This may be not at all easy.
The Jaguar amp (as fitted with cars with the premium sound option) was linked by fibre optics to the head unit so there is no low level 'audio out' from the head unit.

Correct no low level , but the head unit puts out 4 channels of high level out put from head unit to all 4 doors and you can convert that to low level with a converter ,
Also 6 channels of high level from the premium amp .
2 of which are sub outputs .
the best way if you have premium sound ?
for an additional sub amp , is to convert from the high level sub outputs to low level directly from the premium amp in the boot/trunk ,
or if you have high level inputs on your new sub amp then don’t convert , just hook it up ,

my extra tra sub amp is running off the premium amp sub out puts , these two channels are filtered already and you gain control of your sub from the head unit controls also .
if you want a photo , let me know .

I totally agree with Datsports. High level with a converter is the only way to get a low-level output.

Has your car got the premium sound option with the amp? If so it should have 'Alpine' badges on the speakers.

If the premium sound amp is fitted it disables the 4 channel output from the head unit and only uses the output from the amp.

There are different wires for the door speakers one set from the head unit for the standard sound and another set from the amp for the premium sound. Both sets of wires are fitted in all cars and there are different door speaker connectors depending on what system you have, again these are fitted to all cars.

Here is a link to the electrical guide for 2003MY S-Type cars made between VIN M62935 to vin M94764.
(If you add your partial vin number to your group signature it will help us all to know exactly what s-type you have. See the first line in my signature below for an example.)

The diagram you need for the standard audio is on page 119. The wire colours are obvious from the letters i.e. WB is a white wire with a black stripe. (The colour codes are on page 15)

Sorry I have never used a high to low level converter so I can not help with that.

Are you sure about that?

I thought that when the system detected the AMP on the d2b network the standard speaker outputs were disabled and an extra few steps were added to the volume control?
The result is that if you retro. fit the jaguar premium sound amp, and just add the subs you could not keep using the standard door speakers as they will not work.
If you are correct, and it would be good if you are, it would be possible to just fit the jag premium sound amp and the subs and keep the standard door speakers, perhaps to fit the premium sound ones at a later date.
