When I bought my 2002 V8 the seller had only one key/fob. Thinking I'd buy a spare key and fob I called a dealer and found out the purchase and programming cost nearly $500! Yikes! Does anyone know if used keys/fobs are available (perhaps from parted out cars) and can they successfully be re-programmed? Thanks!

I have the same situation.. Call around your area for a locksmith that makes Tibby keys.. My local guy makes the fob key w/buttons for $220 and a programmed plain key that opens doors and starts the car for $120. Ebay has both kinds as blanks that need programming and cutting..

if you purchase a fob off of Ebay make sure it is the right frequency, some fobs are 433MHZ and some are 315MHZ!I believe most Us Cars are 315MHZ
