Default S-Type R Exhaust Upgrade

Hi,

I have been wanting to improve the exhaust sound on my 2007 S-Type R. I want my car to sound deeper and possibly a bit louder, but not deafening. From what I have read and seen so far is that an X-Pipe may be the best option for getting a sound like that. If so, which X-Pipes are good and affordable, and what exactly is the installation procedure for one?

you don't get a deeper sound from an x pipe . also doesnt make it louder . it does shift your power to top end a little , and more rasp and left to right pulse was noted when i first fitted mine .

Here is what mine is like. Cats removed with after market mufflers at the rear. It gives a nice throaty sound that is not over bearing.

LOL, good eyes. Yep, that's why the car was on the lift in those pics. These are the only ones I have of the underside like this. The car is lowered and we ended up cutting slots into the subframe to allow more travel of the control arm adjustment. We cut about an additional 1/2 inch into the existing slot. We also had to die more threads into the tie rods and changed out the control arm bolts for new SS case hardened bolts and thicker washers. Best camber before the mod was -2.0 degrees. Today the camber is set at -.03 degrees and no more excessive inner wear.

That sounds like a good mod for lowered cars.
Any chance you could explain and post a few pictures for others?

I had not heard anyone slotting the adjustments before and that would be the proper way to do it.
