S type R fuel pump
The key here is - you have the option of changing the whole kit & kaboodle, sender units with fuel transfer pump as well as the fuel pump module along with interconnected hoses - this is the most expensive option.
The next option is just replace the fuel pump module along with the plastic enclosure and hoses - these can be fairly expensive as well.
The least expensive and equally effective is to only replace the actual metal fuel pump which has probably failed, the gasket and the straining filters. This requires 15 minutes additional time to open the plastic case and swap out the fuel pump (very straightforward). The main thing to look out for when buying the fuel pump is to make sure that the electrical connector is the same so you don't have to splice in the wires. I see you can purchase these pumps on ebay relatively inexpensively (one I bought was common between Jaguar and Lincoln LS/Ford Thunderbird for S-type 3.0 2002)

No the STR has a different pump and fuel delivery system compared to any other S Type. Yes they are higher output pumps and the STR uses both to feed the engine above 3000 rpm. They are over $800 each from Jaguar. I do not know of any after market pumps for the R.
We don't see much trouble with them and mine at 123K miles are still all original. Are you sure you need a pump? People have found hoses off and screens plugged before. Maybe a inspection before replacement would help?
You need to use the R pump. DO NOT use anything from a non SC car.
