hey guys just did the rear pads on my 06 stype 3.0 last week. Since then they have been tapping like crazy. I bought the pads from a quality auto parts store, not a jag dealer. Any reason for these things to be tapping? ive been doing my own brakes for 10 yrs(always got my pads @ this parts store) & never had a single prob til i touched this jag. any suggestions? thanks

 

Tapping? Not sure what that means? I know a lot of newer pads come with shims on them, were those on the pads you installed?

 

yea, like a light tap/knock noise as if the pads had play in them. when i apply the brakes, it goes away. what do you mean by a shim on them? im tryin to think back if there was anything on the new pads.hmm

**EDIT** In the above post besure to look at page four (4), for the pin circled in red that was not seated into the piston slot correctly.
