Sunroof Cover. Sunshade. panel yes part 12. Does anyone try to take it out for re upholstery without taking down the entire liner?

 

Yes I have removed mine out through the top before .
You must pull / unclip the plastic screw covers from each side to expose the four screws that retain the glass frame.
Then remove the glass out the top .
Then remove the wind deflector , and the blind Panal slides foward and up and out through the hole .
Good time to grease the worm drives and rail sliders as well .

Few more questions if I may;
How do you remove the foam/ old glue from the actual panel(plastic).
Do you have any pictures, drawing, etc how to tackle this issue i.e.

remove the glass out the top .1
remove the wind deflector 11
remove blind panel 5

 

A stiff-bristle scrub-brush should dispatch the rotten foam. The dried adhesive is probably ok as-is, but you can probably clean it off with acetone or similar solvent. But beware your solvent is compatible with the panel base material (I have no idea what the underlying base is)
