The Xenon headlights on my wife's 2006 XK8 have black-colored interiors. But I think the lenses are standard clear. As others have pointed out, this is a legal issue....

 

You know, I'm not 100% sure. I haven't seen an HID equipped non R in person.


I know that all the R's had hid's from the factory. At least in the North American market.

Yes the STRs here all had them, too - at least by default.

 

I wonder if these are an option from Jaguar? Anyone ever check in parts dept? I feel like it's gotta be an option if they have them on the one car in the Top Speed magazine

 

I don't think that top speed car is real. Or at least it never made it to production. There are several things featured on that car that ended up on later Jag models. This may be an auto show / prototype car. The actual production car was sadly toned down alot.

First the 20" Senta wheels, which ended up on the New body XK as an option. The biggest wheels that ever came on an STR from the factory were the 19" Barcelonas made by BBS.

Second the side grilles where the front fender meets the front door. Those ended up on the 2008 XJ8.

As far as tinting the headlights. Any qualified body shop should be able to do it no problem. Take the lights out. Clean the lenses. Mix whatever % of tint into a clearcoat, and shoot it. I've had a body shop mute chrome trim in this way before. I wouldn't do more than a 15-20% tint though, a little goes a long way here.

Bingo. Jon's car has the rare victory edition package with them. I think your tail lights differ from a standard xk8 as well if I'm not mistaken. What's funny is I didn't even know it was a victory edition car when we bought it.
