I own a S type 2007 3.0, GCC specs, LHD in UAE. Both front windows and rear right windows have failed Basically they just went down and I got a shop to raise n lock them. I can hear the motor working when I tried to raise. Do you think I will need to replace the whole unit or rails only? and Will the Ford Taurus parts fit the S??

 

It depends what is broken

Most common is that one of the plastic sliders has aged and cracked. You need to take the door card off and have a look. You can get spares and repair kits on ebay. This type of thing but you need to check whether it looks like yours:

Some members of this forum have successfully replaced the window regulator assemblies with those from a Lincoln LS, however one of the door holes would need to be elongated to accept the stud.

No the Taurus ones don't fit. You can change the plastic parts as mentioned above but after a number of repairs I now just change the entire regulator minus the motor. The motor almost never goes out.

It's not a big repair just be careful of the interior so you don't damage something visible.
