Hi All

We are trying to fit some nice 16 way adjustable STR seats from a 2003 car into a 2005 V6 that only has 10 adjustable.
The passenger seat works fine, but the driver's seat not.

Heating elements seem to work (or at least light up) but the driver's seat has no motor control at all.
We got a secondhand 2005 16 way seat module and fitted that, no change, it is not working.
Putting the original seat back in shows all is ok with the fuses etc.

I understand that there may be a change to the wiring loom between 2003 and 2005? Not able to find anything on it.
Is there a change to the protocols? CAN and SCP to just CAN?
Why does the passenger seat work?

Looks like the seats are totally incompatible.
Need to swap skins to a 2005 seat frame, or swap all electrics (modules, motors, sensors and loom) into the 2003 seat frame.

 

I was very surprised when you got the passenger side seat to work by just plugging it in!
Things are networked so you can't just plug stuff together.

Passenger seats works as its all hard wired, plug and play
Drivers seat is all can bus, so to get it work its needs coding to the car with Jaguar IDS/SDD to get it work.
