As a new owner I have been avidly reading the forum. I have a 2001 S-Type 3.0. Although this car is registered as 2001 I looked on the door panel today and saw the manufacture date of 06/00 ... Some on the forum suggest preventative maintenance of the Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner for S-Type with a manufacture date that was before June 2001. The motor is running very very well, better than I had anticipated. Any suggestions or ideas will be appreciated.

You don't have a 4.0 so don't have that problem.

Thank you for the reply. If I understand you correctly, only the 4.0 V8 is of concern.. If that is the case it is very good news. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the whole driving experience with this car. I have had it nine days and put on 1400 km!!..
