Default Self-levelling headlight issue

Hi,
The self-levelling headlights on both sides of my 2003 S-Type R stopped working overnight. Can anyone please tell me why this has happened and how it is fixed?

I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to S-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

They're likely broken. Do an advanced search on this forum for threads initiated by "Brutal" containing the keywords Headlight fix. On the other hand...maybe you're the lucky one and have only blown a fuse. (I'm interpreting your post to mean the leveling/adjusting mechanism is what has quit, and that the lights still illuminate?)

Hi
There's most probably a issue,
you need to plug in to find what the fault is
When I first bought my car they did not work and mine was the front level sensor
there's also one at the back
also worth remembering if you unplug a headlight with the battery connected, the self leveling stops working and can only be reset with jaguar IDS/SDD
I replaced the front sensor as it was the fault listed and reset it and its been fine for years
cheers
Joe

On the lower control arm / wishbone.
It may just need reset as stated above.
Or indeed broken .
Are they pointing down ? This would indercate broken . Then there's two options
1, replace the adjusters.
2, the Brutal fix .
or are they just not doing the down up sweep on start up ?.
I can't recall but with head light delay ? or was it auto on activated , stopped my car from doing the sweep . So maybe check both those functions are deactivated .
In which does not render the auto leval inoperative .
Just no sweep
