So here's the latest update.

Got the hardtop off with the help of a friend. It's much lighter than it looks, but I guess that's a good thing.

Go to put the soft top up, it comes up half way... and stops. Some quick research etc and pulling codes for the soft top controller have led to the diagnosis of a faulty or incorrectly adjusted passenger door window limit switch. Basically there is a switch that tells the soft top controller that the window is down, so it can proceed with closing the roof. The top controller isn't getting that signal, so it stops for fear of breaking the window with the top.

So I'm going to tear into the door this weekend and get the top back to operational status. On the bright side, the actual fabric ragtop and plastic windows look brand new!

The first ride with the top down was a fun experience though.
