i purchase a set of Barcelona last year to fit on my 05 STR.
but now it seems i have to replace my rear set.
the question.
1. can i use 285/30/19 as rear fitment?
2. will it matter if i use different pair on the rear as oppose to the current set up all 4 Continental sport contact2.
i was thinking of getting Pirelli on the rear as i saw good deal on ebay.
Ps: i found the continental has a short life span, around 13000

Just FYI.
i end up purchasing 4 tires from tire rack.
i got the Goodyear F1 which they happen to have super good deal 245/35/19 for $160 each and the rear 275/30/19 also at the same price.

I just got rid of my mismatched tires because the car was unstable. In my last car forum we had the same problem with mismatched tires. The rear end would get tail happy and end up putting the car into oversteer causing people to loose control. That was with a mid-engined lightweight car but it also had staggered setup. It seems that in a performance type vehicle with a staggered setup this causes a problem with control. Plenty of theories but we never had any real proof except for all the crashes and spinouts from fellow members. I now have the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 all the way around and the tires have been fantastic so far! Great grip and control with very little noise. All 4 tires cost me around $800...

There are plenty of thread that show a 285 series tire fits but its close on the inside.
