Default Ball Joints

I was told by a mechanic that my 2005 s type needed new upper ball joints and that it was a mid year production so the parts would be more expensive than usual. the car was manufactured in march of 2004, but the registration says its a 2005. Does this make sense to anyone?

Thanks
Jeff

For North American production, 2003 was a redesign, and 2005 just a "freshening" or facelift. I wasn't aware of suspension changes in either of those but there may've been. I'm baffled as to why parts used in mid-year production would be more expensive? But Jaguar generally go by the last 6 of the VIN to ferret-out the correct parts ...and now that you have your 10 posts and likely full access...go here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-xmas-48052/

download and follow the instructions and, armed with your VIN, you should be able to find the appropriate part-number(s). Then start with Nalley or other of the site sponsors and/or your local dealer and find out how expensive they may be. (I wouldn't put much stock in the prices listed in JEPC, not sure how accurate they are)
Didn't see any offered on Rock Auto, but perhaps you can find other aftermarket sources.
