Default STR Supercharger Belt

Looking at replacing the drive belt and the supercharger belt while I have the coolant hoses out on my replacement program. The drive belt part is straight forward however the dealer told me that the original supercharger belt is no longer available and that the new replacement belt only fits with the upgraded parts (pulley, bracket, tensioner). How do I determine if I have these upgraded parts which would allow me to purchase only the new supercharger belt?

I have posted all the updates Jaguar did for the SC belt noise. A search will find it.

If you have the updated stuff you will have a belt with both sides ribbed.
If you have the original squeaky design it will be a conventional one side ribbed belt. The upgrade also changed the regular serpentine belt too.

You can get an aftermarket belt for the old style single ribbed belt BUT you can't for the upgraded double ribbed belt.

I would call the aftermarket parts places. Be sure and change both belts.
But look at this oldy but goodie thread!

Try ebay for the old-style belt.

Thanks. This makes sense especially after I re-read some other threads. I see that I have the original style design. I had Jaguar belts and at 90,000 miles no squeaks and probably original. They look to be in good shape however this morning I picked up a Gates belt for accessory and ordered a Continental belt for SC that will be available later today. I don't plan to convert to double ribbed.

Since you live in a warm climate you may not get the squeak. I did not on my 2005 until the weather cooled off. I was really surprised Jaguar changed all they did as I thought a new belt would be the best I would get.

Yes the update get is about $900 if the dealer installs it so pretty pricey!

I still get the squeak sometimes even with the upgraded pulleys.
