Default Tie rod installation

I ordered a complete set of front suspension parts for my 2001 so type 4.0. After a text book install, (which I thought) I'm getting a rubbing sound on my rim. Is there a difference in left and right front tie rods. I haven't moved the car besides pulling in garage and back in.

Make sure it's not the caliper cover. Sometimes I bend those when I'm working around them. It's that thin metal cover on the inner side of the rotors.

Default Front suspension rebuild

Installation of new front suspension parts for my 2001 s type 4.0. After a text book install (which I thought). Is there a difference in left or right sides of outer tie rods. I couldn't replace right side due to a frozen tie rod which would not come off, so I'm waiting on inner tie rods so I can complete job. So here's my issue: front left outer tie rod rubbing on rim. Did I put the wrong tie rod on the wrong side. Oops! It's only on on outer turn (wheel out)

That was first thing I checked. I put car up on stands in front and turned wheel and can see the rod rubbing on inside of rim.

1) compare new tie rod to old
2) compare new tie rod to new tie rod
3) are the part numbers the same for both sides?
4) call parts supplier have them check

Default Note

Check, check, check..your parts to make sure right is right and left is left. Thank you for pushing my lazy butt to check that out.

Just to be clear, the tie rod ends are handed but the track rods themselves are identical, right?

I put the tie rod end in reverse. So..drivers side is complete, right side has a frozen outer on the inner.not sure what a track rod is. Inner tie rod?

Got you now. The tie rod or track rod is the straight bit from the rack? The track rod end is the outer part with the ball joint, which is often but not always handed.
