Default Transient ABS fault light

Last night while entering the garage in 9 degrees F weather with wheels caked in snow, my car threw an ABS fault light (and, for 2-3 seconds, a DSC fault light). The ABS fault light stayed on after restarting the engine. The light was gone this morning and it has stayed off. Very odd...

Has anyone experienced this and any suggestions as to the cause?

Please don't flame me for a code - I know this one is invisible to the generic OBD II reader.

Thanks in advance.

Bearing in mind that the distance between the sensor and the exciter ring is crucial, perhaps the caked snow caused it?
