Transmission
Ok so i wanted to change my transmion oil pan because it had a leak and while i was in there i was going to put the sonnex shift kit. I removed the oil pan. Then unplugged the valve body and removed the the bolts holding. Shortly after separating the valve body i discover i order the wrong shift kit. I removed 2 valves and placed them back. I re assembled the valve body. Bolted it back up to the tranny put the new oil pan on and refilled the tranny with about 2 1/2 quarts of oil. Feeling like i dont know where i went wrong, now my car wont move and tranny fault code p0736 (reverese ratio incorrecr) shows up. Any pro advice would help. I was trying to save some money doing this on my own and may just end up taking to a shop if i have to. Thanks in advance
Yes i did research the refill procedure and pumped in as oil allowed after overflow
Since you have the ZF 6HP26/28 gearbox, you must get the temperature up to 40oC, then check the fluid level following the correct procedure.
Below is the correct procedure for checking the fluid level.
