Default Troble with Adjustable Pedals

2003 STR.
The pedals will not move back and forth. When I place the selector knob to the pedal position and push forward or rearward, I hear a click sound but no movement. The dealer wants $235 for a new pedal assembly, that doesnt sound too bad but I was wondering if it was something simple.
I stood on my head and looked up at that mess cobbled together and I really wonder how it works anyway.
The pedals are in the right position so it's not a big deal other than trying to get everything operational.
Cheers.
Bob

Yep.
Take a look at the round selector switch for the stearing wheel adjustment, it has a pedal position that makes the gas and brake pedals go back and forth I dont need it either, I just want it to work so I can play with it too
