Default Trouble Codes S-Type 4.2 2003

I noticed that when I step on the accelerator I get like a pause before it accelearates almost like a dead spot. This just started happening and I don't feel comfortable driving the car.

Today I checked the trouble codes and got 3
1 Fault 2 Pend

P0193
P0193
P1111

Can someone tell me what these mean

Thank you,
Lewis

Codes PDF is free download in Stickies. P1111 is good.

P0193 relates to fuel pressure circuit and/or sensor

Welcome to the forum Lewis,

As a newbie, you won't be able to download the DTC (Diagnostric Trouble Code) PDF so here is the extract for P0193:

P1111 is not an error code - it's a status indicating all onboard monitoring test have been completed.

Before you repair anything.

Erase the codes and see what comes back.
Then hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what it reads under different driving conditions.

Then report back. My guess is you need to replace the fuel rail pressure sensor. It's mounted on the driver's side back of the engine.

If you search for your code you will find my trouble shooting.

As was posted above P1111 means all is well. All S Types if operating properly should always carry this code.

Thank you both for you responses. I will do as you suggest but if it's just a fuel pressure sensor why when I drive it does if feel that the engine is getting starved for fuel then picks up again. This is happening all the time.

Any ideas what might cause that. I recently changed the fuel filter and had the injectors cleaned.

Thank you

Your "just" is wrong - it's critical it works. Emphasis on critical & works. Yours doesn't so of course you have bad issues. You've just said why.

There's dozens of potential causes for a hesitation during acceleration. Guessing what might be wrong with an engine without doing any diagnostics or even opening the hood will rarely be accurate and can lead to many needlessly replaced components.
