tunning an R
ok brand new here..... background... ive had 2 x types and my last jag was an S type R...........my family situation might be changing...ie my wife is leaving with my BMW 550I............so i was thinking of getting another S type R , cause i really dug that car. my question is can you beef up the HP and for how much? i currently have a diesel truck that i took from 350hp to 590hp at the rear for under $2000,,,,,,i love the jag but like the hp that comes with a amg e55...... so?.......................thx for any input...
You can make around 200 hp just installing Avos twin screw SC,but the price... I guess will be a lot higher. But BMW 550i from 2006 has only 360hp/360tq,so STR is more powerfull...with 400hp/400tq
E55 AMG with 469hp/ 519tq is better,but ...it depend on your taste,you wanna have REGULAR AMG or RARE STR...

These cars make about 300-320 to the rear wheels stock.
With all the bolt on's, pulley, intake tube, air filter, full exhaust, maybe meth injection, you can bring that up to 350-375 to the wheels,
Not many other mods, if any, are available beyond those basic bolt ons at that point, so you will have to be satisfied with that, no (proven) ECU tune available either,
The m112 eaton blower just won't flow enough air to make any significant gains on a 4.2 STR,
You will need to consider a supercharger upgrade; AVOS is offering one soon for this application, would bring power up to 450-500 to the wheels, maybe even more depending on additional supporting mods,
Consider an XFR if you can swing it, that's your 500+ hp STR right there,
