Need to replace the upper control arms on my 2006 S Type R.
There is a lot of choices out there. Any recommendations on which to buy?
Thxs!

Go for big brand named ones. They use better quality rubber.

Do you?
I am serious: Why do you think that you need to replace them?
I assume you are talking about the front upper control arms (I do not think there are some in the rear).

If it's the grommets: I got myself a whole bunch of generic grommets from China and swapped them all.
If it's the joint of that flexible bolt, which seems to be too lose - has too much play: I gave that joint from it's backside a few targeted hits with a hammer, greased it, and it was as new...

Here's my experience on my '02:

No idea how similar your '06 would be. Even with different part numbers, I think some of the general procedure should be the same.

After 20 years, the bushings on our '06 S-Type R needed some attention....as did the ball joints, tie-rod ends and other rubber parts. I started ordering parts (mostly from Rock Auto) to go through everything in the front and rear of the car. I ordered Moog when available but found Delphi and Dorman to be good alternatives. I also replaced the half-shafts since the CV joints were looking a bit suspect. Once I gathered the parts, I put the car (my wife loves this car) up on stands and did all four corners. Took about a week to complete. What I found was how much better the car drove after (I had the alignment done). You don't notice how it degrades over time until you put it back to how it should be.
