Default USB or jack instead of cd changer ?

hello everybody

i have a 01 jaguar s type and i would like to enhance my audio system, but without buying a new audio player (my car is parked outside and there are many thefts during the night, especially multimedia car player, and i don't want to spend much money in that enhancement...)

today i have a classic cassette player and a cd changer in the trunk.
i only found out that kind of solution: "cassette adapter" but i am afraid about sound quality...?

so are there any others possibilities to have a USB or jack connector with the factory audio system ?
for ex by using a kind of module linked to the system in place of cd changer ? (i don't use it because it can't read CD RW)

finally i can't use jaguar "ACM" because my car is too old... (before 2003)

thx you very much for your help !

I think you can do the CD player hack with the early cars, some reading will be involved but start here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-cable-32776/ https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-r-last-11943/

While searching for a viable solution (I only see iPod replacements for the CD changer on EBay- and that's with the 30-pin iPod classic interface - you'd need the Lightning adapter for anything later), the legacy CD player WILL play burned CD-R M discs (M = Music, 80 min format, but realistically only 74 min). So, burn your music on THOSE discs - and do some research on those "cassette adapters" as some are actually better than others (there are a few YouTube video reviews of those around).
