Hi,
I have a 2001 S-Type, 3.0V6 Auto, its my second in the last couple of years. Im running the 19" xj alloys with 255/35/19 tyres.
My issue is that in the last two months, the car has chewed 2 sets of rear tyres!! down the the metal wires!!
The inner tread of the rear tyres is scrapping what seems to be the inner arch, and eventualy getting down to the wires and puncturing ... new tyre!
These wheels and tyres were fine on my other s-type, so im guessing its an issue with the rear camber on this car, can you adjust the rear camber on a 2001 s-type???
Also, could it be an issue with some other rear suspension component?
Its been on a 2 post ramp and an MOT ramp and clearance on the inside rear arches seems fine,
Also, ive had the rear wheel bearing changed because that gave way, but that didnt seems to cure the problem,
Any help appreciated,
PS, Car has an LPG conversion with a tank in the spare wheel well, and will upload pics of the car, its not to everyones taste, so be warned!

Welcome to the forum. You might want to stop in the "New Member Area" and post an introduction. This has many benefits as you will be upgraded to full member status.
Here is an alignment pdf. that should resolve your issue if any suspension parts are NOT worn:
S - Type Alignment.pdf
Definetly post up the pictures. I am sure all of us would love to see the LPG set up.

im thinking of booking the car in for four wheel alignment, but before i do that, im going to take it to a garage and have the rear suspension thoroughly checked, they did have a quick look over last time and said the rear bushes seemed fine,

Keep in mind rear camber is NOT adjustable - as Brutal pointed out the control arms do wear over time and affect the camber.Originally Posted by khany1

Went to the garage today and low and behold, both rear control arm (wishbone) outer bushes had a massive amount of play!!Originally Posted by abonano

just trying to source the bushes so i dont have to spend a fortune on new control arms, found this one on ebay: (£50 each)
JAGUAR S TYPE AND X350 LOWER REAR WISHBONE BUSH (OUTER) | eBay
But, i also found 2 poly bushes for the price of one! (£50 for a pair)
31AW Rear Lower Wishbone, Outer
What do you guys think?
