Default VIP Style?

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here but I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of VIP styling? It's a JDM concept of tuning so maybe that hasn't quite entered as a Euro style trend, but I was just wondering if anyone has ever done it on an S Type. I was thinking of taking a few concepts from the tuning style for my S Type and just wanted to see if anyone else has tried it.

A few of the members, I including myself own imports, so I’m sure that there’s a few of us that are familiar with VIP. Are you strictly speaking of body kits or what? IMO the general consensus would be not to make the Jag look ghetto or it just isn’t our cup of tea. VIP kind of remindes me of DUB cars here in the states, as far as the cars being over the top. I haven't seen too much of an after maket for our Jags. Have you checked cardomain.com to see howJags are being fixed up?

VIP Style is just that...a style of life for the car, not just a phase or a look. Properly pronounced VEE PUU, VIP style should consist of every VIP style imaginable. Soft suspension, Elegant rims(not flashy nor huge nor chrome...just elegant in which ever way possible), non-aggressive body styling, just passive, and DARK DARK tints. The only thing that should be "ghetto" about the car, is the ride height. It should sit low and very elegant. Picture a car that a president should travel in, not the type a car that rap star should travel in.

Thanks for everyone's opinions for those of you who are familiar with the styling concept. I'm a previous Lexus driver, so I'm familiar with a few different styles of tuning. I just wanted to see if anyone else has done similar style work. I'm not interested in doing anything TOO drastic that will take away from the appeal, but I'm interested in doing something along the lines of VIP styling to my S Type.

I looked into the original Junction Produce side and rear curtains, and also some other companies such as DOD and Garson curtains. As far as the wheels are concerned, I'm not doing anything crazy, but I have concerned a few sets of wheels discussed on the forums (nothing above 18 or 19s though) and yes I want a dark tint as well. I was thinking 20% all around. I have 5% rear and 20% on my black car- but it's harder to get away with darker tints on lighter cars and my S Type is gold. Also I thought about getting a FUSA for the car, either just one hanging from the rear view mirror, or maybe more to wrap around the curtains (since I doubt I'll be closing the curtains, at least for the fronts).

Curtains on the windows??? Maybe it is my imagination, but what I am imagining would look horrible. Do you have any pictures that you could post of cars that are this style so that I can better understand?

That's actually the issue of why I brought it up. On some cars it looks great- other cars it looks disgusting. And of course I don't want to invest the money into the parts unless I'm certain the Jaguar is one of the cars that it WON'T look horrible on. I'll see if I can get a few links up with some photos on different cars etc. because eachtuner has different perspectives of what parts look the best.

This site has a few photos on a Lexus IS300 to give you an idea. It's a bit overkill on this particular car with the Sake bar and the Katanas mounted on the rear deck lid, but you get the idea of the styling type. I'm hoping for a little more subtle tuning aspects along the VIP styling, but I did think the idea was interesting, particularly for those of us who likes to have fun in the backseats (or for the fronts for the freaks LOL).

That lex is a bit overkill but definitely the definition of VIP. The curtains look nice and they were well done. However, when I think VIP, I've ALWAYS loved the S.

Yes I've seen this same model, and I loved it!!! I just wanted to look into the privacy curtains for an added touch. I was partial to the look when I first saw it done but I thought it might look weird on the S Type. I may start with just the sides to see how it looks on the rear side windows, and then get the rest later if I like it. The curtains likely won't be used (except perhaps.... after hours), but I do want to see how they look to add to the VIP styling.

Whoa that Lexus looks pretty crazy. I like those curtains. Where could I get some for the Jag?

Yeah that Lex is a little extreme. But then again, it is actually in Japan, so that's kind of where that theory evolved. The curtains are originally a product of a company called Junction Produce. Their website is www.junctionproduce.com I believe. They however don't produce aftermarket curtain kits for the S Type- they do mostly Lexus vehicles only. I think there's a company called Garson (as well as DOD and I forget the other one) that do a more generic form of the curtain kit that can be used on any vehicles. You just have to mount it up inthe window sills (for DIYers- or just have it custom installed for best fitment). Shoot me a PM later and I'll email you photos of some of the other kit options. I'll try to post pictures of them all tonight if I get a chance.
