I picked up my 2005 today and was just wondering on the Jag Voice as I too was getting the "mute" read out when trying to set it up.

I have same problem with voice command but I checked fuse there was no fuse there so could it be just the missing fuse? I want to try with fuse but/ hesitate as to not sure what would happen ,I have fuse specs, so I wonder. any body k its safe . the spot is there

 

Is the optional Voice module fitted? (Chances are it's not.)

 

I bought for 100.00 including the fiber optic cable for my 2007 XJR out of an 08 S Type. They revised the system in Mid 2005. I bought the book from Jag even though it was discontinued they were able to find dealers that had them on the shelf. A must if you want to learn the vernacular of the system. For 100.00 with my own installation, I cant lose. I like being able to control my system via voice. This was the first car I have even owned since 93 that wasn't voice controlled. An option I recommend everyone have. Try dialing an number while driving 100 miles an hour down the freeway. Not fun.
