Warning light/message
Hi
I have a 2.5ltr S Type Auto Petrol from 2005.
On start up a warning message indicates the assisted steering control [DSM] is not available.
When the car reaches operational temperature and the ignition is switched off and then on again the message disappears. The car will run normally.
If I drive without resetting the ignition [off/pause/on] the message will stay until such time as the ignition is turned off at the end of a journey.
Any ideas please.
Regards Peter

+1 on failing or weak battery. The battery must have a minimum of 12.5 volts across the terminals with the ignition in the off position. Any less than 12.5 volts and the battery should be replaced to avoid random DTCs and other electronic 'gremlins'.
