In addition to needing to replace the ac compressor it seems I need fireplace my water pump.

I know the pump itself is only about $45 but was wondering if the replacement is a job I can do myself.

If so, does anyone have detailed step-by-step instructions?

I didn't know that there is a fireplace in the water pump. When I pop the hood to check fluid levels this weekend as usual, I'll have to remember to look for a miniature chimney....

 

Sorry, I meant to say that I need "to replace" the water pump.

That's what I get for testing while driving.

This is for a Jaguar S Type 2000 3.0L

 

I would then replace both the water pump and AC compressor at the same time. Simply because you will already have removed everything to get to either or, aisde for a couple of radiator hoses and to drain the coolant.
