Default Well I hate to do it, but what do you guys think of my ad?

Hey guys,

I've decided to sell off the S-Type. I just can't justify keeping it around considering the purchase of the BMW.

I've put it on my local CL.

2003 Jaguar S-Type, Nav, Tv's and more!

Let me know what you guys think of the ad. Also if any forum members are interested, I'll hook u guys up

Take care,

George

Hi George. I'd suggest a rear shot to show off her butt. Otherwise an awesome ad. I can't see how anyone could avoid that awesome car at that price. Good luck.

Seth, let me guess, your license plate says "Assman" doesn't it?

George, that ad was painful to read. Mostly because I don't want to see you sell your S, but also because the font gave me a headache. Other than that your descriptions and pics are very good. I would suggest you substitute one of the front shots beside the X for a pic of the front interior section.

The font is whack..looks like you are yelling... and too many capitalizations. Also, I would take all of the upgrade cost references out since it does not matter what was spent on them as generally you cant recoupe upgrade costs

OK I backed down the font a bit... I think...

References to mod prices are just to make potential buyers understand the value they are getting. I could take the car back to stock, run it through the dealer auction and get 6500ish, then flip all the accessories separately. BUT as they say time is $$.

I might replace the pics when I get home. I did this at work, and those are all pics I had in my phone and had easy access too...

Take care,

George

As long as it doesn't appear you are trying to recoup the cost of all of the extras via the price, then the price listings would be OK to leave in there. But Fergs does have a point. Maybe something to consider if things are slow and you need to tweak it a bit.

bfs - liked the way you slipped that in there.....lol

George - The ad was a little hard going, mainly beacuse of the font I think, but all the good info was there.
Dunno if you can post more pics but usually, I like 1 of the front, back and both sides, close up of the alloys, close up of the front interior and the rear interior, 1 of the engine bay ( detailed of course ) and 1 of the boot ( trunk )

Either way someones going to get an absolute stonker of a car at a bargain price..........hope you stick around though George, we'd miss ya

George,

Does this mean your connection with Jagforums will be limited? After all that work making that car what you want you are going to turn it loose?

As for the add I always felt that the photos sold the car so a few extra may help. I also feel that you could express the Q/A things you did along with the modifications and repairs. This is an add (photos) for my 93 1993 Jaguar XJS
BMW !!!!!!!!!!! 

Good Luck George

Great Car, drop dead price.
May I suggest a more reader friendly ad using points and subpoints to group the information. Pictures under the hood and undercarraige would be a useful addition.
Which BMW did you buy..I am looking at a recently refurbished M owned by a friend. What became of your STR parts car?

The first (and prob last) post in this thread will answer most of your questions:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...worth-p-57275/

As far as my association with Jag forums I'm sure I'll be in and out I love u guys I needed a change and a pick me up for many reasons. I love these cars, but it was time for this one to go. The new Jags do nothing for me... so it is what it is guys.

Oh and Chris, things are pretty bad with my aunt, my mom flew in on Mon. She's still on the vent, but survived the surgery, 3 pins and some rods later. I've been meaning to get back to you... I'm sure you'd take the BMW as it sits btw, BUT give me a month or so, and I think you'll have to change your license plate

I need to work on the ad some more. I need to clean up the car and take proper pics. I did the ad at work, and I had to pick from the pics that were on my iphone. Anyone wants to help out and redo it, I can email the html code to you

Take care,

George

Did some work on the ad, and placed one here in the classifieds including a special "forum" price:

Comments / suggestions welcome.

Hey guys,

I need this thing gone. I found something I want and I want to free up some cash. If anyone is interested, or knows someone, I'll give them the deal of a lifetime on it.

Take care,

George

So I sold the S-type this weekend. Buyer drove up from MD, picked it up and drove it back. I told him to sign up here, but we'll see if he does.

ChrisSTR was actually here visiting when the car left. He got a very fair deal on a very well taken care of car.

I actually picked up an 09 Mercedes C300 4matic for shared daily driver duties, as I plan to tune the 535i and see what I can get out of it... Maybe Chris's DUSTABMW plate wont hold true for too long

So at the moment, I no longer own a Jaguar.

But we'll see what the future brings. I could see myself in an XK(R)... The new XF didn't do anything for me, that new styling just isnt for me, and after driving the BMW, the S-Type just seemed old and dated, despite all my upgrades...

I'll still be around.. I love you guys.

Take care,

George
