Default Wheel center caps - Good aftermarket ones?

My wheels are being refinished and I need to replace the center caps silver & green growler style so I've had a look on eBay and there are a tone of these!

Can anyone recommend some that turned out to be decent quality.

The OEM ones aren't all that good and have tarnished now so it's time for new.

Call Welsh Enterprises at (800) 875-5247. Last month I ordered a set of four (silver growlers on a black background) for my wife's XK8. I paid about $19 with free shipping. Great quality, great price, and they arrived in just a couple of days. If I remember correctly, they offered black, red, green, grey, and gold backgrounds so you should be able to find what you want for a very reasonable price....

I use the cheap Chinese ones on EBay for about $12 a set. Any color you want.

I have been surprised how well they are made! Snap in nice and tight.

I will say I have lost different center caps over the years on various cars but those Jaguar ones are snapped in really tight. Scarred up the old faded ones when I popped them off.

I also ordered a set on ebay for $12 and free shipping. I actually got 2 sets because I was worried about the quality and thought they will be popping right out due to the price. I snapped them on and astonishingly they are still on. Its been over three weeks.

When I first purchased my XK8 it was missing the wheel caps. I bought a set from the Jaguar dealer at over $100 for the set. They were promptly stolen the first time I left the car unattended. I've since purchased the Chinese ones from ebay, they aren't as nice but I don't care if someone adds them to their wheel cap collection.

Maybe the XK's have better center caps?

On my STR the factory ones were plastic just like the Chinese versions.

+1 the originals as well as the tire valve caps look quite cheap.

I think I'm going to try a set of the "R" style though I could order a set of green growlers as well and still be waaaaay less than factory prices.

Well they took 10 days to arrive and cost $12.55.
They look great but ... They are a loose fit so that they easily quite spin inside the center opening. That's not good

So it looks like I'll have to attempt applying some spacing tape to them to see if I can obtain a tight fit.

Chinese consequences folks.

I like the R look though.

I'll let you know.

Those look awesome! I ordered new Coventry wheels with the intention of using the OEM caps, but one of the clips broke off as I was removing them. I'm considering these or the green background Welsh Enterprises cap.

How are people finding the Chinese caps vs genuine? I got a set of green ones off ebay, they look the real McCoy! but I'm worried about the paint fading or silver corroding so I gave them a quick coat of clear to protect the finish so hopefully they stay looking mint for years to come!

Here's a link to the ones I got, thankfully when they arrived they were no where near as bright as the pictures suggest, much darker almost like British racing green.

Indeed. And look at it this way - if you paid $20 for the set and they last five years tops, that works out to $4 per year. I'm as frugal as they come, but even I can afford that cost/benefit ratio....

It seems that the only way to remove the oem caps without damage is to remove the wheel first.

Yes that's what I found too. My factory caps at this late date where in perfect shape but badly faded as my STR has never seen the inside of a garage since I got it.

The ones I got (chinese) do not fit. The tabs are too loose. In my efforts to tighten up the fit I ended up breaking one of the tabs off so the entire sets is now useless.

They weren't expensive and they do look just as good as the frankly cheap ones that came with the car so it was worth a shot I suppose.

I'm not sure the plastic is abs quality?

I now have 4 interesting trinkets. Whoopee!

I expect that they're all made in China but hopefully the ones being sold by B&M vendors here in the USA will stand by any fitment issues.
