If 0 for 23 is your idea for helpful.
I guess that would be 1 for 24 counting this post. There was one actual useful post early on ...

The 5x108 bolt pattern isn't that wierd. Maybe the offset is though. Ford, Volvo, Ferrari, Maserati and others use 5x108.

Your best bet will be some recon OEM wheels for an 'R'.

He He He... Sorry but we are goofs sometimes...

Thanks for the slight props Bob S.

Yes, the 5x108 bolt pattern is used by those mentioned. The thing is, combined with the offset, any time I've searched for wheels it comes up light. That doesn't mean they aren't out there.

Vegas.. Like I said in my early post.. And Rick made evident with his twisted humor..We really need more info... What are you looking for? Something styled but a stock size? Up-sized wheels for performance reasons? Big DUB styled wheels? It really goes in all directions.

Honestly, all cars have a "sweet spot" when it comes to wheels. Car and Driver recently did a test of performance on a Golf going from a 15 inch wheel all the way to a 19 inch setup. If memory serves me right, that car hit the sweet balance at a 17 or 18 inch setup..On the S Type, it looks like anything over 19" and you start to diminish the performance benefits of up-sizing.

But then everyone will wanna drag race with you. I find the "R" wheels surprisingingly difficult to clean. The earlier 03-04 "R" wheels might be easier than the 05-08 version.

If you get stuck you can alsways have wheels made for around $500 each. Check with compomotiveusa.com

Or ... some ultra lightweight 3 piece racing rims. ;>)

I looked into adapters to switch from a jag specific to a more friendly 5x4.5 and it was a little over $300 for the set of four, but they will space the wheels out .75 inches.

The problem I have found with our lug pattern is that 90% of the cast cheap made in china will not have our offset, so you will need to shell out some cash,

Been there done that with aftermarket wheels. Had some 19" HP Design wheels, they fit fine, the car NEVER drove right. Vibrations etc.....

The car was bad enough that I went back to the stock 16" wheels.

Then I found a clean used set of 18" STR "Vulcan" wheels, and threw them on, car drives perfectly and I am extremely happy.

I wouldn't use a NON Jaguar hubcentric wheel on these cars, the front ends are extremely sensitive to balance issues, and hubcentric rings just don't cut it. Some volvo wheels may be direct bolt ons as well.

Take care,

George

I exerpianced the same with my Mark VIII, (s-types Share lug pattern, and offset) so I threw my aftermarket wheels away and used 19" XJR wheels and never had issues.

I'm not looking to go bigger than 18". Just a nice, simple design. The ADR Sterlings look nice and seem to be available in the proper offset and bolt pattern.

They look nice. I've not heard anything on the quality of those wheels. Maybe someone could chime in.

You're talking about these, right?
