Last time I disassembled stuff to replace my AC compressor, the screw and plug for the vent on my tank broke. The threaded portion that screws into the tank separated from the head of the plastic screw in plug.

My makeshift repair involves using the old threaded portion adapted to a plastic trim plug. It works, but there’s no telling for how long.

Anybody have any idea where to get a new vent plug for the coolant tank?

 

This has come up before on this forum & someone located a source of replacement brass (I think) screws. A search may turn up the thread.

If you want the plastic one search ebay for range rover bleed screw. Be careful with the metal one to not overtighten. I was close. Then i dropped the stupid thing later on a coolant change and never found it. Had a new plastic one as a spare thank goodness
