During my heater hose replacement, I decided to change whatever was under the blower just so I didnt need to have to get back in there. That included the fuel injectors.
But try as I may, I couldnt find a set of fuel injectors that were identical to mine so I resorted to ebay and bought some that seemed to be appropriate. But I now think it was a mistake and will be pulling them out and putting my originals in after having them tested.
My fuel injectors look like
I KNOW these are correct. These are marked 6R83-BC from Denso
The ones I bought and put in look like these below and are marked 2W93-BA from Denso as well (obviously a different number but same connector, top and bottom and 12 hole output)
And came from this ebay ad https://www.ebay.com/itm/201820425788
the ebay seller claims they are for the supercharged 4.2L but i am starting to think they are not correct.
Anyone have any knowledge on what the green ones are for.
How about flow rates for the originals and the replacements?
I read a post on here where someone else used these green ones and toasted their motor so I am yanking ASAP. I would like some ammo to go after the seller to get my $369 back!
You know this already, but everything on the R fueling and engine management is unique to the R model or Jaguar supercharged models to be more exact....i would not think that there would be a lot of choices for injector replacements....i am thinking you got sold the wrong ones by the crazy trims you were getting....i have vin n67734...... 06 str ...i will see if i can see injector color on mine and post accordingly....i know mine are original....i was able to see the tops of mine...same red as your confirmed originals....hope this helps some

those green ones are exactly what my 03 STR has fitted .
they are 550cc Denso ,
I had mine ultrasonically cleaned and tested ,
with 170000km on them , and they tested perfect spray pattern. Equal flow and with no wear .
it Surprised me no end .
As mentioned above the injectors were changed at vin N52048. This is the start of the 06MY cars.
The correct jaguar part number for these later injectirs is AJ811177, these cost £146.56 each from Jaguar.
(When new in 2006 they had part number AJ88900)
I think before vin N52048 they were only available from Jaguar as part of the fuel rail assembly.

Mellow
Barratt's shows the early injector as currently available as a separate part, #AJ82532
Attached are images off of 2 different STR engines 03/04 are green, and ones on my 06/07 engine are red.
I recommend messaging AVOS regarding interchaneability of injectors. He worked a lot finding out the flow ranges and what injectors worked best in his modified engine.

Get the original ones that are right for your engine and try to get your money back, you took a big risk with this ebayer, just the text alone would have given me the shivers: "Using a brand new Original Denso injector we have develop this upgrade unit to exceed original performance of the 2W93-BA
Numbers on our upgrade units have been erased to avoid confusion"
