Will not upshift, stuck in 1st gear
Car idles fine with no engine codes. Park, neutral and reverse work fine. when put in drive or any manual shift car attempt to shift into second gear but then bogs down and downshift back in 1st gear and stays there. This fault happens everytime while attempting to drive, and I have no clue whats wrong. It is an 06 jaguar s-type with 3.0 engine 48,000 miles.
I am going to bring it up again. I had the same issue with my xk8 ZF Trans and it was the improper adjustment of the shifter cable. I proved the Trans repair shop wrong when I did it myself. It could be a costly mistake.

Do this test. Put the trans shifter in #4 or #5 manual position and see if it shifts properly as you drive. No need to move the shifter the car will start in first and upshift automatically. Let us know your results.
Now I am better understanding what you are experiencing. If that Trans wants to shift and does not then I would be looking at the trans control module and if I am correct yours is located in the trans. That trans control module takes information your engine and the engine control module. It sounds like it wants to shift and is unable.
The TCM and shifting valve body is in the trans. The TCM operates the shifting valves and if the signal is not correct or the valve is not working or the speed sensors are not reading properly it will not shift. Remember that the TCM & Valve body are one unit. How was the TCM checked?
the speed sensor don't seem to be out of range, voltage to trans looks good and nothing noticeably wrong with the shift solenoids unless you know specifically what I should be looking for in each sensor.
The valve body take a command from the transmission control module that takes command from the engine control module and that is governed by the operation of the engine. One of these are not working properly. If your engine is working properly at idle and revving then you need to look at one of the control modules or the valve body.
