Window Regulator

Window Regulator
Heard rattle other day, took driver's door panel off and low and behold, one plastic guide broken on left track . . . panic starting to set in . . . visions of "big bucks" racing through my head . . check internet, $300 at local jag dealer for parts. . . wait, eBay . . . found several . . . got new aftermarket one for $120, shipped. Being a newbie with a Jag, question. Are these broken regulators repairable, or just junk once they break?
ps. disregard the file attachment . . . I can't delete it for some reason . .

RE: Window Regulator
Anyone try to superglue a cracked nylon guide back together?? I am going to try it on my old one when I take it out and replace it. There must be something or someway to salvage these things. Have salvage yard not too far away by Lake Michigan that has about 20 S Type Jags sitting out in a corn field rotting away. Might have to purchase a regulator from one of them to experiment with . . .

RE: Window Regulator
Replaced my regulator in driver's door this morning . . not too bad a job . . regulator is aftermarket (made by Chinese children) . . only problem was that mounting stud by motor was off location by about a quarter-inch . . had to open up the hole to mount that one point . . other than that, works fine . . bought on ebay for $120/shipped . . guy from Fla sells them . .

Yesterday my window rolled down just fine but today I went to roll it down and the window didn't move. I heard the window regulator working perfectly fine but
the window didn't move. I rolled it back up and at the top I hear a cracking noise. I would assume what ever attaches to the window to push and pull it came off but I don't know. Is it possible that all I have to do is reattach it or is the regulator gone?

Remove the door panel and replace the widow regulator assembly. They cannot be repaired.
The reason the mounting studs do not all line up is the eBay regulators are designed for the Lincoln LS. If you elongate the hole, it can fit, but remember to coat the newly exposed metal with primer before installing the aftermarket window regulator.

I believe these can be repaired. I also have a 2001 S Type 4.0 and purchased a repair kit of eBay for the front left window (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-S-...t/162382383461). It's tricky to fit but I took a few pictures, which may help.
The Kit is the same as used in the Ford Focus in the UK, and probably shared with other Fords.
This is the new cable in place on the old frame, with the motor removed.
It seems like the new cable isn't long enough when you try to wind it around the pulley - but it is. The key is to compress the spring with a zip tie while fitting:
You can then hook the cable around the four green pulleys as show below, and then cut off the zip tie from the spring. Once you reinstall the regulator into the door (or apply power to the motor) it will pull the cable back onto the pulleys under its own power.
I also added some white grease to the metal runners where the plastic guides go.
