I've done all the trouble shooting I can do to decide if it's clogged line. Now I want to see if the line to the pump is clogged. I've verified that the lines to the hood nozzles are clear. I've cleaned the tank to the point of the water being clear, plus I have seen the tank from underneath and can see that it's clear. And yes, the pump does sound like it's pumping, but it's not getting any fluid through it.

I have found generic pumps for about $15, so it's really just the removal that's going to be a PITA. I won't be buying a pump right away, I just want to get at the one that's in there!

Poking around in JTIS, I came across this -- sounds pretty easy, I wonder if my car is any different. Won't know until I remove the radiator splash panel.

Well, today I decided to take the plastic splash guard off and take a look at the pump. The plastic is, well plastic, and not a lot of fun removing and replacing it, but not a big deal either.

I decided to not mess with unplugging the electrical connection to the pump, but I did take the tube off and then blew into the tube that goes to the passenger side nozzle in the hood -- all clear!

I did notice that no fluid came out of the plastic bottle when I pulled the pump off -- hmmm, clogged filter maybe? YES!!! I stuck my finger in there and wiped it off a few times and it started to flow freely down my arm and all over the place! Success. I popped the pump back on and now it pumps washer fluid like crazy, but now I have another issue - one of the nozzles doesn't work.

I tried cleaning the nozzle with a pin and tried blowing through it, but I can't get it to work, so I just made sure the good one was on the driver's side and I'll search for a replacement for the other one (unless anyone has a better idea).

At least now I can clean the windshield, and even better -- I now know how to get to pump and how to clean the screen if I need to do it again!

All in all, it's an easy job other than the typical hassle of dealing with the plastic splash guard -- those things always give me fits!
