Default Wont start and alarm goes off

Hey guys, I have a jaguar S type. 3ltr v6 1999 (T reg)
yesterday i put a new battery in as the last one went dead overnight. Tried it and it started fine. This morning i went to start the car, it started and ran for about 2 seconds then cuts out and the alarm goes off. This is happening everytime i try the car. How can i overcome this. Im stuck in the driveway. Any advice will be hugely appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like you have a serious drain. There are threads/stickies about fault-finding them.

Ok, problem solved. Turns out the car didnt like the battery. Put a different battery on and its starting fine with no alarm. Thankfully an easy fix

The battery was a halfords battery. I have taken it back and they gave me a full refund. However, the battery that is working fine is also a halfords own brand. Despite showing a full charge. I believe it was just faulty

Thanks for the info. It sounds like it was a bad battery.
