If my S-type was "R", I'd put this one as well.

I might just get this one. Simple no additional logos or letters.

Mine does not have any chromes at all, so simple black frame would be the best for mine.

Here is a picture on the frame your polling about on my '05 X-type 3.0.. Maybe it'll help you make up your mind. Looks great with my car, since I have the chrome package. I've had it for over a year now and never had a problem with it.

I suspect it would be illegal in the UK as well as The Leaper would cover the numberplate manufacturers name and postcode.

Agreed. People spend money put "bling" on their cars and frankly, to me it just cheapens the vehicle.

Rims are good. They improve handling and looks. Lowering springs (to a point) are good too. Improved handling and looks.

Chrome this, neon that, bling whatever (especially those ridiculous spoilers) are just classless....

I have this style that I purchased from my local Jag dealer.

That doesn't have anything to do with the license plate though, how would that be illegal?
So then the 'Yours to Discovery' phrase on Ontario license plates i guess wold be illegal too?

They are here in Texas if it in any way covers any (even just part) of the printed wording on the plate.

I'll let you debate that one with the SQ or OPP.

Default "NO"

I think logo license plate frames in general are superfluous. Jaguars have distinctive styling that set them apart from all other cars. That's one of the main reasons we all love them, right? So then, why add another piece of ornamentation that reiterates the obvious? Our cars already have the leaper, the word "JAGUAR", or both on the front and rear. Even without that ornamentation, it's apparent that it's a Jag by virtue of the styling. Think understated.

That said, I like a thin, plain frame just to finish off the raw edge of the plate. I use chrome or black; whichever is appropriate to the subject vehicle. Just have to be careful; as stated above, some states (including TX) don't abide having any of the lettering covered.

Just my $0.02.

JD

I'm not a fan of the bright shiny chrome. If they came in black chrome or painted matching body color, then I might consider them.

i originally voted Yay but need to change my vote to Nay. I would not put it on my S-Type BUT since I now have one on my X-type (thanks to my darling oldest child) I should only vote Yay if the question was about X-Types.

I'm the only one here who understood that. LOL. I am assuming that you are not a PQist? Good man.

No, I can't even say those two letters together. Makes it difficult to recite the alphabet though. Putting aside my ancestry, I've seen enough of the world to know that their view of a better world could not work. Enough of politics.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Ontario and Quebec are two very different places. If you cover any part of the plate here, you will be given a fix it ticket. How do I know? When I drove my Mercedes here from California, with California plates, I was given a ticket for the standard License frame from Fletcher Jones which covered part of the year sticker.

Year stickers do not exist in Quebec and yet I was given a ticket.

He is correct. If it covers the Je Me Souviens, he will be ticketed.
