Replaced spark plugs and coils on no 8 and 5 cyl, fuel filter. It dos not start below 60. My wifes car. She find theat 15 minutes of space heater under front cures it. Went to the shop , and they checked everything . fuel press OK temp sensor OK . Have some other electrical problems, cig lighter and pass windows are not operable from other than main ,driver door switch. No heat . I am ready to torch it . It is such a beauty to drive when it is OK. Any sugestions ?

You could study the electrical guide in case there's anything common, but likely it's a failing battery or damp in the trunk.

Welcome to the forum. Don't torch it, Now is the time to baby it.

Most people with 12 year old cars have problems with them.
Sounds like you have a bunch of compound problems that are NOT related.BUT might be. If you have let these issues pile up over the years then you will end up in this situation.

The battery suggestion and water are very common, most of what you mention are also common and you will find threads related to them in this S type section FAQ area.

The cold start issue is weird, using a space heater ???. My thought on this is that your starter is going and the cold causes the solenoid not to function until warmed up.

Coils are very common, most guys here suggest changing all at one time so you don't end up doing one every few weeks, plugs as well. Your mileage is getting up but not real high, mostly the age of the car is the issue and it is time for major tune up.

Spend some time reading here before chasing your tail and throwing money at the car. Lots of great advice and DIY fixes for those who like to read.
None of your issues are new and have been covered on here before.

BTW, if you didn't go the the new member section and introduce yourself you will be subject to many new member restrictions, reading past info and looking at photos will be not allowed until you meet certain time and post requirements.... not many rules here but there are a few.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

hmm, maybe a misreading sensor - you can check using an OBD tool. At least check all the ones involving temperature

Er, changed the fuel filter? Cheap, easy & a known problem on all cars if they get clogged.

Thanks for your responses ,guys. Let me give you some more info. Engine cranks but not starts below 60 degrees. I ordered CD with shop procedures and will play with it. I was certified MB mechanic til 1984 so it is fun for me to go back in time. Today I cleaned suction filter at the end of pickup tube in a fuel tank. It was realy dirty. yesterday fuel filter was replaced and car did not start today. I hope tomorrow itis going to be realy ccold in Florida , I hope for 58 ,to see if this will clear the problem.

Bear in mind it's computer-controlled, so if a sensor is wrong enough the computer will compensate but will be unknowingly doing the wrong compensation. Simply: the sensors must work. As I put, check with OBD.

Question

It did not start, temperature was 56, was cranking as usual, have to use my wifes trick with space heather. After 15 minutes it started right up. Fuel temp sensor is the same as coolant sensor, so I swiched them last night. So I am going to check afuel pump now. Anybody knows where pump is located ? thanks in advance.

Fuel pump is in the gas tank, I think on your year you can get at it under the rear seat.
On my old 01 the fuel pump slowly died, nothing to do with cold weather, it would just take longer and longer cranking time on each start until it failed.
Still puzzled over the cold start issue with a space heater.

Get the JTIS cd, tons of good info on it

If your pump is working you will be able to hear it run with the key on.
You might have to drop the tank on your model

I am not sure if you have a cold start injector.

you need to put a scan tool on it after sitting overnight and check coolant and air intake temps before starting. they should be pretty close to each other, and both should be fairly close to ambient temp. if one is wrong it will not be delivering proper A/F ratio which will cause hard/ no start
