Default Zf 6hp26/ ford trans

Ok I have a question. Hopeful some of the tech's can answer it. I been looking around at parts for the Trans pan/filter for our cars, and they are plastic ones. The ford 6hp26 for the Lincoln navigator 2005 and up ford calls it also a 6r60 Trans. They have the same Trans as our cars they have a steal pan a separate filter and gasket. I was just wondering if we can use them on our car as they are allot cheaper to buy all the parts separate and don’t leak as much as the plastic ones. Looking at the ZF parts catalog. They have two type style A and style B, and type A is for our cars. This is just an idea. What dose every one think... Can this work?

Not too sure if a lot of people have pan leaking issues with the plastic pan. The gasket has quite a bit of compliance in it. If the ford part doesn't work out, I believe Audi uses a steel pan and separate filter. I haven't tried it but from what I've read, the transmission should use the same casting.

If I recall correctly, Ford called theirs ZF 6SHP26 trans in the Navi. Not sure if it would fit, or if there would be any benefit to this swap unless its a deeper pan or something.
