Please don't hate me for this blasphemy, but yesterday I drove top down, 72 degrees, and today's storm was not supposed to be this bad - they predicted 2-4 inches - and we have now 14 with it still coming down. My Jeep is not running and blocked the driveway to the garage, so I thought I would take a chance and leave the XKR out. Bad decision.

Hey, I love your current weather. Please send it to me as soon as you can. It's pushing 75 degrees here and I'm already miserable. I'm dreading yet another inferno summer....

'Thank you.
Sorry to say, I have just started, so there is no other Bling in the engine bay yet.

I had to take out the intake manifold, so I had to "Go for it" while it was out

Thanks Cyber3D

After sanding down the original ruff surface, I used Rustoleum Pro primer and sanded that smooth.

I needed a chrome finish, so I used the Spaz Stix ULTIMATE BLACK BACKER as a base and then covered it using the makers instructions for applying light coats of Spaz Stix Ultimate Mirror Chrome.

This gave me the metal look.

Then I lightly overcoated it with Duplicolor Metalcast.

The last coat was Spray Max 2K Glamour High Gloss Clear Coat.

So, to answer your other question, yes, all done with rattle cans.

Thanks for your interest

I’ve been wanting to get that deep showroom shine back into my 2001 XKR as although the paint work is very good, it’s is dull and flat. I used Poorboys Black Hole polish then Big White hi temp paste wax and a lot of elbow grease. Really happy with the results. It has brought it back to life.

^^^ I second that! My XKR is going in this Friday for paint correction, cost estimate is in the 400-500 dollar range, but includes superfine wet sanding in the areas that need it, as well as deep polishing. They say they can remove most of the scratches and swirl marks and road rash, hopefully mine with BOUNCE much like yours. Awesome!

I have a guy that comes to my house with everything he needs, even filtered water, and does a deep cleaning, polishing and surface protector that is amazing. I literally use my leaf blower to dry off car after, and a micro fiber to gently get the few drops that linger. It lasts well over 6-8 months. Paint is mirror fine, no scratches and swirl marks.
I can even simply blow off pollen! Nothing sticks to it.
