Just wondering if anyone has used any of the newer Jaguar badges on your XK8? I bought mine completely debaged on the rear and it felt like it was missing something so I bought a later style "leaper" (like on the X150's) off eBay for $5, all metal and am pretty satisfied. Opinions?
I recently discovered that the trunk button/badge on my 2005 XK8 has fallen off. I recall comments about how the badge by itself is no longer available even on eBay, but it may be obtained as an integral part of the trunk switch button mechanism. No thanks.
I don't care if it's a growler or a leaper or even about the color. I just want a button/badge of the right size that I can attach with adhesive.
I just measured my 2003 XKR's rear growler button. It is 23mm.
If you search eBay for "jaguar trunk button" there are a bunch of full assemblies and some sticker. You can email the seller and ask for button measurement.
Alternatively, I have bought replacement key stickers (14.5mm) from eBay seller "raji-kata" and you can see if he has 23mm.
The one on my '05 fell off as well. I replaced it with the one mentioned above from China for a couple of bucks - still looks great. Here's one for a rather absurd price from Welsh Enterprises.

You can try EBay seller Soughtout1. Recently someone stole the hood badge on my 1997 XK8 and I went looking for a replacement. He didn't have the badge listed but I sent him an email on the off chance that he might have a gently use one kicking around and he did at a great price. Delivery was super quick. It looks like new and fit perfectly.
Thanks but I ended up finding a seller that had a green growler emblem that should fit. It came off a 2000 Jaguar XJ but as far as I can tell the same basic button with the 23mm emblem was used on a bunch of Jaguar models over several years.
