Default Leaper Badge on your XK8?

Just wondering if anyone has used any of the newer Jaguar badges on your XK8? I bought mine completely debaged on the rear and it felt like it was missing something so I bought a later style "leaper" (like on the X150's) off eBay for $5, all metal and am pretty satisfied. Opinions?

That does look good.

The later models had the shiny strip and trunk button in that spot. I did update the button to a leaper though.

I made this badge for the front of my 2004. From an XF.

And matched with the later style wheel center caps.

I even replaced the badge on the engine cover to match the center caps. No pic of that though.

Glad to see I'm not the only one! And the XF badge looks great, really like that.

May I ask, where did you source the leaper trunk/boot button?

I got it off ebay a couple years ago for a few bucks. Was from China. I don't see any listed right now though.

I recently discovered that the trunk button/badge on my 2005 XK8 has fallen off. I recall comments about how the badge by itself is no longer available even on eBay, but it may be obtained as an integral part of the trunk switch button mechanism. No thanks.

I don't care if it's a growler or a leaper or even about the color. I just want a button/badge of the right size that I can attach with adhesive.

Any suggestions?

I just measured my 2003 XKR's rear growler button. It is 23mm.

If you search eBay for "jaguar trunk button" there are a bunch of full assemblies and some sticker. You can email the seller and ask for button measurement.

Alternatively, I have bought replacement key stickers (14.5mm) from eBay seller "raji-kata" and you can see if he has 23mm.

Best,
dsd

The one on my '05 fell off as well. I replaced it with the one mentioned above from China for a couple of bucks - still looks great. Here's one for a rather absurd price from Welsh Enterprises.

Mine was missing too. I ordered a replacement button Sticker from Welsh Enterprises.
It looks great and seems to have good auto adhesive on it.

Green Trunk Switch Badge - XJ8 XJ6 XK8 S-Type X-Type (BADGESW) = $29.95

Welsh Enterprises - New Jaguar Parts, Used Jaguar Parts and Accessories - XK120 - XK140 - XK150 - E-Type - MK - XJ6 - XJ8 - XJ - XK8 - XK - XJS - S-Type - X-Type - XF
Hope that helps.

Mine just fell off as well. Anywhere these days to find a 23mm stick-on growler?

You can try EBay seller Soughtout1. Recently someone stole the hood badge on my 1997 XK8 and I went looking for a replacement. He didn't have the badge listed but I sent him an email on the off chance that he might have a gently use one kicking around and he did at a great price. Delivery was super quick. It looks like new and fit perfectly.

Thanks but I ended up finding a seller that had a green growler emblem that should fit. It came off a 2000 Jaguar XJ but as far as I can tell the same basic button with the 23mm emblem was used on a bunch of Jaguar models over several years.
