Default Lifeless Green Jaguar badge

I’m in the midst of changing the left front fender on a ‘99 XK8. Near the door there is a green leaper badge. Behind that badge is a wiring connector. Trouble is, there isn’t any corresponding connector on the badge, just an empty receptacle.

Am I missing something?

Got it. Thank you.

Seems Jag could have saved a few bucks by not installing a harness for a non-existent light.

Or they saved money by not making multiple different harnesses, thus saving time during production.

Or they could have added side blinker lights to North American imports!

Or we could speculate about their intentions all day and get absolutely nowhere

Many, many years ago I worked in a shop that made harnesses during the summers. We would get a build sheet for each car and had a cart with various hooks. You would push the cart and pick up the various wires, switches and whatever for the options listed on the build sheet. Wouldn’t really take any more or less time depending on the options.

The North American models do not appear to have the harness on the right side.

Or you could do what I did and make the front ambers blink and leave the leapers on the sides where the original design put them.

If you read the above about relocating your turn signals and thought "I would like to have those but my car doe not have the wiring on both sides." then go here for a great how-to on adding the missing wires correctly.
