Personal Experiences with Nitrogen in Tires on Various Cars:

1. No performance advantage
2. No perceptable economic advantage related to MPG or tire wear.
3. Tires never seem to lose any pressure - at all. I've gone the duration of a tire's life without ever having to top them off. This hasn't happened on every car, of course. So, that's worth something.

I've had Nitrogen on the following cars:
1. 2008 M3
2. 2009 MINI Cooper JCW
3. 2006 BMW 540i
4. 2016 F-Type S

Your mileage may vary...

Would I recommend paying for nitrogen? Probably not. However, since the dealers around here seem to provide it for free when you buy a car, then I don't see a down side.

Here's what the free stuff is comprised of...

Seems to me that getting 100% Nitrogen (well, 95%) is trying to solve problems that don't exist.

I've never used nitrogen, but have had similar experience.

I'm using my patented N78 blend. It's roughly 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. Exact percentages, and the composition of the remainder, being a trade secret. Because of its special formulation it can also be run through the engine. It's even safe to breathe. Anyone interested in licensing it for commercial use, please contact my legal team.

My experience is the same as yours and this on several vehicles over time... the pressure seems to hold more constant with our temperature swings, but the main issue is not having to add air otherwise and its free.

I believe Mikey has hit on the solution - use maple syrup to fill your tires AND as a fuel additive, and your problems are over!

If you start doing breakfast on the engine block, just get a straw, to boot.

I think you're on to something, however I realize that I inadvertently tempted fate and now feel lucky that I made it out alive.

The conversion of sap into syrup requires boiling off massive amounts of water at the approximate ratio of around 40:1 sap to syrup. This means that for every litre of syrup made, 40 litres of water needs to be boiled off.

In my case, I ended up with a total boil off of 293 L over a 48 hour span. This massive amount of moisture was released to the atmosphere in fairly close proximity to our driveway, not to mention the garage where the compressor sits.

I can only imagine what might have happened if I had filled a tire or run the compressor during the boil off.

Since it involves maple syrup, it is probably already illegal in Quebec.

Not a clue what that might mean.

As we drift farther off topic...
You knew that Quebec has a strategic maple syrup reserve? No really.

I'm originally from Quebec, so was aware of the co-op/marketing board and the controversy behind it. The article is incorrect when saying that 'Canada' has has a reserve, it's Quebec only.

It really made headlines when the $30 million theft was discovered. By volume, maple syrup is worth more than almost any other liquid foodstuff. What a hoot!
