I know the trick to doing this on the series 3 (The knob pulls off, you remove the c clip, then the switch can be depressed and rotated to the final position) but how do you modify a series 2 switch?

I am guessing its the same principal because the switch does have a "fog" position, and the wires are there taped up beside the radiator.

I have tried to pull the knob off, but it felt pretty secured on there. I read somewhere about there being a button you had to press on the shaft that would allow it to release, but I looked everywhere when I had the whole dash out recently and I couldnt see anything.

Any inputs welcomed

 

There is a small silver button on the side of the knob. Depress it with a small tool to be able to remove the knob. The knob will lock automatically when you reinstall it.
